A Memorial Day Tribute to Our Military Dogs and Their Handlers

I created a slideshow with some pictures I obtained from various internet sources of military dogs from all branches of the service. The music I selected for the soundtrack is appropriate, it is from the HBO series band of Brothers and is entitled Band of Brothers Suite Two.

  1. Loved seeing this. Learned something, never knew the role of man's best friend to men in war. I think that special relationship is one of the very small comforts to our fighting men.

  4. Thanks for the comment. I originally received some photos from a friend of mine in an email about Navy SEAL Team dogs (which I posted in an album on our hospital facebook page). As I was reviewing them and it was close to Memorial Day I thought it would be nice to create a Tribute to the dogs and handlers. I then went on Google and searched for images of military dogs, and saved the best ones, then created the show. The music was a bit tricky as I wanted something respectful and not trite. As I love all sorts of music I thought of the "Band of Brothers" soundtrack and picked what I felt turned out to be the ideal piece of music. The program I use to create my shows is Photodex Producer (I absolutely love this program and it helps a rank amateur like me look like a pro). I can create a show pretty quickly when I have all the parts in place.

BTW,I have posted other blogs in months past on this site about hero animals in the military, including Reckless the horse, Cher Ami the pigeon and Sgt. Stubby the dog.

If you like my videos go to youtube and check out user zeusdvm and also user nilesanimalhospital for other shows.
